MBSR 8-Weeks-Course

MBSR Course in Lausanne – Mindfulness für Greater Resilience

Pause in everyday life, become aware of what is happening in the present moment, and develop a more conscious way of dealing with stress.

The MBSR course (Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction) is a structured 8-week program designed to help participants manage stress more effectively. Developed by Jon Kabat-Zinn, it is now practiced worldwide. At the heart of the program is the ability to stay present and consciously perceive experiences without reacting automatically.

More Calm in Everyday Life – More Mental Clarity – Greater Stability in Dealing with Stress

Who Is This Course For?

This course is intended for participants who:

  • experience pressure in everyday life or at work
  • notice exhaustion or ongoing stress
  • wish for greater calm, balance, and emotional stability

Benefits for Mindfulness Training

Course participants often report that they:

  • deal with stress more calmly
  • gain greater clarity in thinking and decision-making
  • experience moments of peace more consciously
  • recognize personal limits earlier

Course Structure and Content

Participants learn different forms of meditation, both seated and in mindful movement. These practices help calm the mind and develop a more conscious relationship with stress. Mindfulness offers an opportunity to pause, especially in everyday life, and become aware of automatic reactions and habitual patterns. Step by step, this creates greater clarity and inner calm.

The Body Scan is one of the core practices of the MBSR course. Attention is guided systematically through the body. Participants learn to recognize tension and bodily signals at an earlier stage and develop a new connection with their body. This form of mindfulness strengthens self-awareness and creates an important foundation for sustainable stress management.

Gentle and mindful body exercises support the connection between body and mind. Participants improve body awareness, mobility, and relaxation through simple movements inspired by mindful yoga practices.

An essential part of the course is integrating mindfulness into daily routines. Participants learn to pause, recognize automatic reactions, and act more consciously — both professionally and personally. In this way, mindfulness becomes a practical and sustainable method for stress reduction.

Group discussions provide a supportive environment where participants can reflect on their experiences. Dialogue within the group creates new perspectives and deepens understanding of personal stress patterns. The group experience is both strengthening and connecting.

MBSR: Mindfulness as a Path to Resilience

Learn Stress Reduction Through Mindfulness

Psychology meets Buddhism.

The introduction of systematic mindfulness practice into the fields of stress management and well-being has fundamentally changed the scientific understanding of how humans regulate and overcome vulnerability.

Mindfulness entered the therapeutic field in 1979 when Jon Kabat-Zinn introduced his “Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction” program.

Today, this course format is used worldwide in companies, social and educational institutions, and healthcare organizations to promote well-being, emotional balance, and resilience.

Although mindfulness in professional and social life may appear to be a modern innovation, its roots go back more than 2,500 years to the teachings of the Buddha in ancient India.

Where Does MBSR Come From?

The Buddha presented his teaching, known in Sanskrit as “Dharma,” not as a system of beliefs but as a collection of principles and practices intended to support people in their pursuit of happiness and inner freedom.

At its core lies a training system designed to cultivate insight and reduce suffering. Jon Kabat-Zinn’s 8-week MBSR program is inspired by this Buddhist training tradition and adapts mindfulness exercises into a modern and secular format.

Cortisol and stress: The silent effect of criticism, insecurity & shame

At the same time, knowing your cortisol and stress profile invites you to treat yourself more gently. Perhaps your body barely reacts—not because you're so "cool," but because your system is overloaded and shutting itself down. Or you react very strongly—which isn't a sign of weakness, but of high sensitivity. Both are okay. The key is to get to know yourself better.
